Individual Learning Accounts (ILAs)
ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme that can help you pay for a wide range of courses offered by a variety of ILA Scotland approved learning providers, including private and community based providers, colleges and universities.
If you are over 16 years of age, live in Scotland and earn £22,000 or less per year or are on benefit then you may qualify for up to £200 each year towards the cost of learning.

Part-Time HE and Professional Awards Students
ILA Scotland offers support for students studying part-time HND, HNC, Degree, Postgraduate, Professional Development Awards and Continuing Professional Development courses at SCQF level 7-11 *. These courses are delivered through colleges, universities or SQA assured learning providers who are registered with ILA Scotland. If you are 16 or over and living in Scotland you could get up to £500 a year towards the fees for these part-time advanced level courses.
To qualify, your individual income must be £22,000 or less per year and you must be studying at least 40 SCQF credits during the year.
Even if you are studying less than 40 SCQF credits you could still be able to get up to £200 towards the cost of the course.
