Scottish Union Learning Fund (SULF)

The Executive published in 2003 it's lifelong learning strategy: " Life Through Learning; Learning Through Life" . The operation of the Scottish Union Learning Fund (SULF) contributes to the Smart, Successful Scotland priority to "increase the demand for high quality in-work training".

The lifelong learning strategy recognises the key role that unions play in learning. Unions are able to work with their members and employers to promote and deliver learning in the workplace.

SULF was established in August 2000. Since then there have been four rounds of projects involving a total of 46 projects from 21 unions. A total of £2.7m has been awarded to these projects. Current funding stands at £800k each year.
