The Employability Delivery Team is focused on developing and growing the delivery infrastructure and building capacity in employability across Scotland through developing and working closely with local multi-agency, cross sectoral employability partnerships, which in the main are led by local authorities. The team provides support for Local Employability Partnerships, and a key area of work is around strengthening links between national partners and local delivery pipelines.
The team also works with colleagues in Scottish Government and a range of other relevant stakeholders such as Scottish Local Authority Economic Development (SLAED), Skills Development Scotland (SDS), Jobcentre Plus (JCP) and the National Health Service (NHS). As special attention is focused on those furthest from the labour market, links with the NHS, Skills, the Third Sector and on the needs of people with disabilities are key.
The Delivery team has ongoing responsibility for supporting national partnership structures including the Scottish Employability Forum (SEF), National Delivery Group (NDG), Health & Employability Delivery Group (HEDG) and the Third Sector Employability Forum (TSEF). The team is also responsible for developing and maintaining the Employability Learning Network (ELN) which includes the Employability in Scotland website, www.employabilityinscotland.com. All these networks have a remit which involves identifying and developing solutions to common issues and networking and sharing of good practice.
Funds and Programmes
In addition, the Employability Delivery team manages the Inspiring Scotland 14-19 Fund programme and works with SDS on the Social Enterprise and Third Sector Challenge Fund.
The 'Challenge Fund' was established to support social enterprises and specialist third sector organisations who are well placed to provide strong support for young people across the youth unemployment cohort into jobs. The Challenge Fund is a ‘one off’ initiative funded in 2012/13 and is managed by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and will reach its conclusion on 30 May 2013.”
