In July 2009, the Scottish Government published its first survey on SME Access to Finance which assessed credit conditions for firms in Scotland during the height of the economic and financial crises. A follow up survey was conducted in November 2009 to monitor levels of demand and supply for business finance over the subsequent six month period. In November 2010, a third survey was carried out which focuses on how credit conditions have changed for Scottish businesses over the period since the first report in 2009. The fourth survey was undertaken in February 2012 and focuses on how credit conditions are perceived to have changed since the 2010 Access to Finance Survey.
