Office of the Chief Economic Adviser
The Office of the Chief Economic Adviser is a multi-disciplinary team of economists, statisticians and administrative staff. Areas of work include:
analysis in support of delivering the Government Economic Strategy;
analysis and advice on issues relating to the Scottish economy including the impacts of developments in the UK and international economy;
advice on the economic impact of major strands of UK reserved functions
analysis and advice on fiscal issues in Scotland including the publication of the annual Government Expenditure and Revenue Scotland (GERS) report
compilation of economic statistics on Scottish Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and exports (the Index of Manufactured Exports and Global Connections Survey) and production of the annual Scottish Economic Statistics report.
production of Scottish Input-Output tables for use in modelling the Scottish economy
