Western Scotland Objective 2 and Transition programme 2000-2006

Click on image for a larger map of the Western Scotland 2000-2006 Programme areaThis programme will deliver some €1,275m (approx. £870m) of support including an EU contribution of €427m (approx. £292m). The region consists of a population of around 2.3 million, with these communities covering an area of 6,714 sq km encompassing urban, industrial and rural areas.

The priorities which are set to guide actions to support the ongoing economic development of the region are for:

  • Competitiveness and Innovation

  • Develop the Region as a Competitive Location

  • Increase the Economic and Social Cohesion of the Region
