Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)

cloudsAs part of this consultation process we sought views on the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) programmes for Lowlands & Uplands Scotland and the Highlands & Islands which assess the potential environmental effects of the ERDF programmes.

Water drippingThe SEA involved the preparation of an environmental report in which the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the programme, and reasonable alternatives taking into account the objectives and geographical scope of the plan or programme, are identified, described and evaluated.

An initial SEA screening of the broad programme priorities concluded that a full SEA was not necessary for the European Social Fund (ESF) programmes.

The SEA environmental reports for Highlands & Islandsand Lowlands & UplandsERDF Programmes are now available.

The final SEA statements for Highlands & Islands and Lowlands & Uplands ERDF Programmes are also now available. These documents may also be inspected free of charge (or a copy obtained for a reasonable charge) at the main Scottish Executive European Structural Funds offices in Glasgow:
