Business support grants
Our enterprise agencies, Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, deliver a range of funding to assist Scottish based businesses. This includes:
- Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) - is the main national scheme of financial assistance to industry, helping create and safeguard jobs in the Assisted Areas of Scotland. It also encompasses additional Tier 3 support, available to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in other designated areas.
- SMART: SCOTLAND scheme - provides financial assistance to SMEs to help support commercially viable projects which represent a significant technological advance for the UK sector or industry concerned.
You can find out more about grants for Investment, Research & Development and innovation on the Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise websites.
Working With Scottish Universities, Colleges and Research Institutes
- SEEKIT programme - aims to encourage productive knowledge exchange activities between the Scottish public sector science base and SMEs. Projects must demonstrate the science base partner's ability to work effectively with Scottish based SMEs and result in positive competitive benefits to businesses.
From April 2011 the SEEKIT programme transferred to the Scottish Funding Council. As the programme is currently fully committed the Scottish Funding Council is not looking for new applications at this time.
More information on the Scottish Funding Council's Knowledge Exchange programmes can be found on its website.
