The Scottish Government sent this message to its staff...
It has now been confirmed that the 48 hour strike by staff at the Grangemouth oil refinery will go ahead this weekend.
Advice to the Scottish Government is that existing and projected fuel supplies are adequate to ensure that there will be no significant shortages, assuming consumer behaviour is responsible.
Staff may have seen misleading reports suggesting Lothian Buses might not run on Monday. This is not true. Services will run as normal.
You should continue working as normal. Staff should, in line with our ongoing drive to make more efficient use of resources, look to eliminate any unnecessary journeys.
Options to reduce non-essential travel include video conference, car sharing, using public transport or walking or cycling where that is sensible.
