Not in Education, Employment or Training Work Group
The work group on 16-19 year olds Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) was led by Eddie Adams of Eddie Adams consulting looking at ways to prevent young people from becoming NEET (including repeat periods of NEET) and to help those who are already NEET; overall this will reduce flows into the workless group.
The group achieved this by
developing a better understanding of the NEET group and those who are particularly at risk of becoming NEET;
exploring what interventions work and for whom and ensuring that the right resources are in the right places; and
looking at how we can build on existing structures to improve local planning and service delivery for this group.
These considerations were co-ordinated with work on those furthest from the labour market and work to deliver other CtOG targets for young people.
