
Project summary
TCRF monies have secured a grant funding package totalling £9.2m to transform the listed Burgh Halls and adjacent former police station into a hub for community life and a key element in the wider regeneration of the surrounding area. The project includes the creation of a modern public hall, café, 11 offices, a commercial and a community recording studio, a nursery,meeting rooms and a courtyard garden. The building contract has been awarded and work starts on site in November.

How will the TCRF benefit your town?
The fund will benefit Maryhill by enabling delivery of the restoration and extension of a much loved and strategically important historic building. This deeply rooted community and business related project is a key element in the regeneration of Maryhill Town Centre and links closely with the Glasgow (Forth & Clyde) Canal Regeneration Project.
Who is involved in project delivery?
Maryhill Burgh Halls will deliver the project. The Board of the trust comprises people who live and/or work in the area plus representatives from partners Cube Housing Association, Maryhill Housing Association and Glasgow City Council. The project team for the works is led by Gardiner and Theobold and comprises JM Architects, Buro Happold and contractor Graham Construction.
