The Scottish Government is undertaking a national review of town centres to scope out potential solutions to the issues faced by Scotland’s town centres and to enable a measured, long-term approach to town centre regeneration by targeting these issues. The review will be developed and implemented in partnership with local authorities, communities and other key sectors – the review will be action and solution focussed.
Town Centre Event
The Scottish Government, together with the Scottish Retail Consortium, is planning a joint workshop in Stirling on 8 November to consider the role of a modern town centre in 21st century Scotland, inviting a representative range of High Street tenants. The event will be developed as a complement to the work underway as part of the town centre review. The participants will consider topics such as: effective public and private sector collaboration, new commercial models and business engagement with local communities in Scotland's town centres.
