Process

This section includes guidance for practitioners and other stakeholders in learning for community development. The resources include:

  • Examples of learning needs assessment, such as surveys and an example of a workshop approach to indentifying learning needs.
  • Methods used to encourage participants in community engagement to share learning, reflect on practice and develop ideas to shape future practice.
  • Training for trainers, including guidance and a resource pack with resources, hints, tips, advice and good practice in planning, delivering and evaluating workshops and seminars on community engagement.
Tools

This section includes resource packs, frameworks and other tools that can be used to help community engagement in all sorts of circumstances. The tools include:

  • A framework for local authority community engagement
  • A guide to effectively engaging with faith communities
  • A guide to develop networks of champions in community engagement and communities of practice
  • A community engagement resource pack

These training materials cover all elements of the Better Community Engagement Framework (PDF), which sets out a curriculum for learning and development.
