Clydebank Rebuilt

Clydebank rebuilt picture

Clydebank Rebuilt was formed in 2002 to drive the economic, social and physical regeneration of Clydebank. Its formation was triggered by the sustained loss of jobs following the closure of the UIE/Kvaerner shipyards and the consequent need to create jobs and training places, while seizing the opportunity to develop prime riverside land.

Great progress has already been made. Queens Quay is an £11m project located on the site of the former John Brown shipyard. Clydebank Rebuilt acquired the site in March 2005 and embarked on an extensive programme of redevelopment. This includes the new Clydebank College Campus and the Titan Enterprise business centre targeting startups and expanding young companies.

The URC has also led on construction of workshops for small businesses and the restoration of the Titan Crane. As well as a Clydebank icon, the A-listed crane is now a major tourist attraction in its own right.
