NPF 3

Call for Candidate National Developments

The NPF can designate “national developments”, which are in the national interest. 14 were identified in NPF2. The criteria will be used to evaluate proposals for national development status:

A Proposal Form (word version) is provided for interested parties to use to suggest projects which are deliverable, and which they consider to be nationally important. Proposal forms should also be submitted for the existing national developments, should those taking them forward feel that they will also be relevant to NPF3. Completed forms should be returned by Friday December 14, 2012.

SPP (Scottiah Planning Policy)

The Scottish Government is committed to encouraging interest and involvement in the preparation of the SPP. Interested parties can participate in the review in a number of ways:

A Participation Statement outlines how and when engagement will take place. This will be updated throughout the review process.
Priorities for Change has been issued. The pro-forma seeks to identify what policy works, where there are issues but importantly, asks stakeholders to focus on possible solutions. Please return proformas to sspreview@scotland.gsi.gov.uk by January 11, 2013.
A Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Scoping Report sets out the proposed approach to the SEA of the SPP and NPF – and is available for comment.
A series of stakeholder and public consultation events are being held across the country in November

A policy on architecture and placemaking for Scotland: public consultation 2012: To inform the future shape of policy in this area and help us to consider how our architecture and places can help provide a better quality of life and better position Scotland on the world stage. As a starting point for discussion, the paper considers 4 key themes around which the policy could contribute and asks a set of 12 related questions. Responses were sought by September 7, 2012.
