SAQP winner 2010

Project name: Glenside
Location: Rothienorman, Aberdeenshire
Organisation: Scotia Homes, Michael Gilmour Associates & Cameron and Ross
Description: A mixed use urban development on a brownfield site that was a former railway station and industrial site fabricating farm machinery. The development comprises a total of 71 houses that are a mixture of housing sizes and tenures. These have been provided alongside 5000 sq ft of commercial space.

Project name: Whitelee Windfarm
Location: Near Glasgow
Organisation: ScottishPower Renewables
Description: Europe's largest onshore windfarm with 215 turbines, and an overall capacity up to 593MW. Whitelee will be capable of generating enough clean, green energy to power over 330,000 homes, more than the 295,000 households in the City of Glasgow.

Project name: Lerwick Waterfront Regeneration
Location: Shetland
Organisation: Shetland Islands Council
Description: The aim of the project was creating a vibrant extension to the town centre by encouraging a range of activities and amenities. Working with partners on other key developments has successfully primed the area for regeneration through a mixture of cultural and commercial uses.

Organisation: East Ayrshire Council, Austin-Smith, Lord LLP, Historic Scotland, Scottih Lime Centre, Copyprint Ayr, East Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership
Description: This provides information to property owners on the importance of their building and the most economic way for them to maintain their property. The key objectives of the project are to encourage the regeneration of the historic core and safeguard Kilmarnock's built heritage for the future.

Project name: Aqualibrium
Location: Campbeltown, Mull of Kintyre
Organisation: Argyll and Bute Council, Highlands and Island Enterprise, Argyll and the Island Enterprise, Sportscotland, Highland and Island European Partnership, European Regional Development, Page and Park Architects, New Opportunities Fund.
Description: Situated on Kinloch Green in Campbeltown and offering spectacular views of Campbeltown Bay, this state of the art, £7.5 million, multi-functional leisure complex opened its doors to the public in 2006.

Project name: Rutherglen Town Hall
Location: Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire
Organisation: South Lanarkshire Council
Description: The aim of this project was to restore the Town Hall to provide community facilities and to act as a catalyst for regeneration of the area. The project involved refurbishment of the original building, façade retention, new build of the east wing and a modern glazed atrium extension to the rear of the building.

Location: Cannongate, Edinburgh
Organisation: City of Edinburgh Council, Holyrood Brewery Foundation, DSP Ltd, John Hope Architects and Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian.
Description: This project involved the regeneration of the important and sensitive site formerly occupied by Scottish & Newcastle Breweries south of the Royal Mile, within the Old Town Conservation Area.

SAQP winner 2003Project name: The Eastgate and Falcon Square Shopping Development
Location: Inverness
Organisation: The Highland Council, Royal & Sun Alliance and Isis Property Asset Management
Description: Regeneration of a large strategic site adjoining Inverness city centre comprising former railway land, disused buildings and a former cattle mart. The aim was to provide 190,000 sq ft of classes 1, 2 and 3 uses with associated service infrastructure.

Project name: The Millennium Link
Location: Falkirk
Organisation: British Waterways Scotland
Description: The development links the re-opened Union and the Forth and Clyde Canals. It consists of a visitor centre, walking and cycling routes and a number of related facilities. The project involved the clearance of obstructions, the preparation of the Forth & Clyde Canal Local Plan and partnership funding.
