The Scottish Government runs the annual Scottish Awards for Quality in Planning (SAQP) in association with the Royal Town Planning Institute In Scotland. The awards aim to stimulate the creativity of those engaged in planning and raise the profile of good practice.

The award is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate planning students and nominations can include a project, dissertation, essay or report.
