The Government is commited to an open, transparent and accessible process for reaching decisions on planning appeals. The information submitted to Scottish Ministers in the vast majority of cases is published to the internet. Please refer to our case file publication protocol for more information on our publication policies for particular case types. In general it means we will publish forms, correspondence, any associated documentation (including maps and drawings) and any correspondence that was previously submitted to the Planning Authority. This means that we will publish the content of any letters of objection or support received in relation to the proposal.
Details of all our casework, including cases submitted since September 2002 can be viewed on our website. We aim to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and we remove personal e-mail addresses, personal telephone numbers and personal signatures before publication to the internet. We remove most documents from the internet 12 weeks after the decision is made.
We try to ensure that anything that is abusive, indecent, unlawful or defamatory is not displayed. However, individuals must take personal responsibility for the comments that they make and submit.
