The Centre for Housing Market Analysis was formed in summer 2008 and is part of the Scottish Government's Communities Analytical Services Division. The Centre was established following Ministerial proposals in Firm Foundations and the positive response this received in terms of setting up the Centre. The key remit of the CHMA is to provide national, central support to local authorities, and other key stakeholders, to aid the strategic planning of housing in Scotland.
