Scottish Government's role in Care and Repair
A short history of Care and Repair in Scotland is to be added here as part of the review.
To promote the expansion of Care and Repair services Working Together on Care and Repair: A Strategic View was published in 2001. This guidance sets out the benefits of Care and Repair services as a tool for achieving housing, health and social care objectives. It also illustrates the services provided by Care and Repair and identifies the main components required at a strategic level to develop and maintain Care and Repair projects.
The Care and Repair Good Practice Guide sets out operational arrangements, standards and good practice for existing and new Care and Repair projects in Scotland.
Care and Repair Working Group
The Care and Repair Working Group was established following the report of the Housing Improvement Task Force in 2003 to consider the development of Care and Repair. It took forward the development of national standards for Care and Repair services which were published in 2004.
