'Ring-fenced' revenue support funding to assist with the running of Care and Repair projects commenced in 2005-06 as part of Private Sector Housing Grant (PSHG) with the expectation that local authorities would match fund the amounts received. Following bids from local authorities the funding was set at £2.335m a year. In 2007-08 this rose to £3.639m for one year only when additional PSHG funding became available.
This table shows the revenue funding paid by Communities Scotland to local authorities for operational costs on behalf of the Scottish Government from 2005-08 and how much funding each project received.
From 2008-09 funding for Care and Repair became part of the overall PSHG settlement which was increased to reflect this. Although the amount of funding is now at the discretion of each local authority it is a condition of the PSHG offer of grant that they adequately fund Care and Repair services.
