The Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 introduced new rights to information, consultation and participation for tenants of local authorities and RSLs. Landlords must publish these rules and make them available.
As well as individuals having these rights, tenants groups have the right to register with landlords (if they meet basic criteria) and be consulted on and participate in decision making. Funds are available to TIS, TPAS, PAIH, CIH and TIGHRA to provide free training for tenants on the Act.
