As of 17 April 2011, UK approved SAP 2009 and SBEM v4.1c implement EPC functionality. Accordingly, from this date, generation of an EPC should be carried out using SAP 2009 & SBEM v4.1c (or other current approved software).
From this date, EPCs for existing dwellings must be generated using the SAP 2009 version of RdSAP to enable lodgement on the Home Energy Efficiency Database. As noted in paragraph 11 of the NCM Modelling Guide for Scotland, Non-domestic EPCs for existing buildings may still be generated using the previous approved version of software for one month from the above date.
