Dumfries & Galloway Council

Focus: Rural Communities - this project focused on 2 rural communities of differing sizes which are geographically separate.

Objective: The intention was to identify current levels of cultural participation and explore and overcome barriers such as remoteness and less accessible transport. The project was delivered by the Council's Cultural Services, in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Arts Association, Community Planning Partnerships, a range of Council depts, and the NHS. It investigated aspirations for regional provision and aimed to increase access and deliver entitlements in a rural region. It also engaged practising artists to deliver a project resulting in full community participation in cultural planning.

Evaluation Plan

This details the main elements of the project including the inputs, outputs, their projected outcomes of the project and the way that these were measured. A further explanation of the Evaluation Plan is given in the Evaluation Toolkit which is being updated in light of the consultants' evaluation report. A link to the Toolkit will be added later: meanwhile, for anyone interested, information about the process used can be provided on demand.
