Museums Policy

On 2nd June 2009 a Museums Summit was held at the Stirling Highland Hotel. Delegates from national, local authorities, independent and university museums and galleries were invited to attend. The summit was chaired by Michael Russell, Minister for Culture, External Affairs and the Constitution. The Minister invited the creation of a small Think Tank to work with the Scottish Government to develop a new Museums Policy Statement. The first meeting of the Think Tank was arranged for 15 September 2009.

The final Think Tank report can be viewed here and the Scottish Government response to the Think Tank report is available here.
