The majority of funding for sport is routed through sportscotland, the national body responsible for developing sport in Scotland. In taking forward Ministerial policy and priorities, sportscotland enter in to investment agreements with Scottish sport governing bodies in taking forward the development plan for their respective sports. It is for the governing bodies to put in place an appropriate structure to support the development of athletes from grassroots through to high performance level.
