For Young People
This is an exciting time to live in Scotland. The Commonwealth Games in 2014 will be an excellent opportunity for you to make your mark on the world. Not only will the Games be coming to Glasgow in 2014 but there are a host of other events such as the Lanarkshire International Children's Games 2011 and the London 2012 Olympics as well as the Ryder Cup in 2014, that will contribute to a golden decade of sport.
We want young people to get involved in these opportunities right across the country. We asked Young Scot to carry out a consultation asking what legacy you would like to see from the Games, and we have taken on board your suggestions. But that is not the end of the process.
There has never been a better time to take part in sport in Scotland and to watch our athletes compete on home soil. It also represents a fantastic opportunity for you to try new sports and events, get healthier and more active, learn about new cultures, showcase Scotland to the world, and volunteer to gain new work skills.
The message is simple - these are your Games, get involved and get active.
This website will be updated so you will be able to share your thoughts and ideas as well as letting everyone know what is going on in your area.
