List of successful projects

The Pathfinders programme covers a wide range of under-represented groups: a mix of rural, urban and islands-based projects; some focused on older people; projects in areas of multiple deprivation; local authorities working together on projects; work with black & minority ethnic communities; work with disabled people; a project that also includes sport; and some interesting work involving pre-school aged children and their families in deprived areas (a particularly vulnerable group in terms of exclusion).

The following table contains details of the programme 2006-08:

Host: Aberdeen City & Aberdeenshire Councils

Focus: Areas of social deprivation - older people, rural/peripheral communities, artists and 'hard to reach' groups.

Host: City of EdinburghCouncil

Focus: Entitlements Manifesto - all sectors of the community, with a particular commitment to work in partnership with all equalities groups (e.g. black and minority ethnic, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, older people, and disabled and deprived communities).

Host: Clackmannanshire Council

Focus: All citizens of Tullibody (and other residents in the Council area) - this is a site of high deprivation and a regeneration priority.

Host: Dumfries & Galloway Council

Focus: Rural Communities - the pathfinder will focus on 2 rural communities of differing sizes which are geographically separate.

Host: Dundee City Council

Focus: Under represented groups from Priority Community Regeneration Areas.

Host: Fife Council

Focus: All citizens but with a special focus on families with 0-3 year olds, vulnerable older people, adults with learning disabilities, & black and minority ethnic communities.

Host: Highland Council

Focus: all school children in the Highlandcouncil area.

Host: Glasgow City Council

Focus: Disadvantaged older people and other under-represented groups, such as disabled people and the black and minority ethnic community.

Host: Outer Hebrides Community Planning Partnership

Focus: All sections of these island communities - will actively involve schools and consider needs of elderly and minority groups.

Host: Perth & Kinross Council

Focus: Rural dwellers - community group mix in a predominantly rural and isolated area in East Perthshire. It will embrace under-represented groups affected by high levels of unemployment and education deficit.

Host: Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire& Inverclyde Councils

Focus: "Bring your Baby" - pre-school children, their parents and guardians, in areas of multiple deprivation (focused on Ferguslie Park, Linwood, Levern Valley, Neilston, Port Glasgow, Gourock).

Host: Scottish Adult Learning Partnership:

Focus: Older people and learners

Objective: this project will stimulate local voices in determining approaches to, and delivery of, a cultural entitlement package to inform Community Planning.

This will be done in 2 project phases, each involving a different group of local authorities.

Phase 1 working with Fife, Argyll & Bute, the Borders and North Lanarkshire;

Phase 2 with North and South Ayrshire Councils (and building links to East Ayrshire Council as well), Stirling, Inverclyde and Aberdeen

Host: South Ayrshire Council

Focus: Pre-5s and their parents/carers - areas in which the pathfinder will run are rural, isolated regeneration outcome areas, and coalfields (pockets of deprivation).
