Dairy cowsBenchmarking Database

Veterinary practices can access the Benchmarking database online at https://www.animalhealthscotland.gov.uk to upload performance monitoring data, once issued with a username and password.

If you do not have a username and password but would like to see what the database looks like, a demonstration version is available in PDF format.

The Benchmarking database will highlight animal health and welfare issues on your farm and aid on-farm management decisions.

At a national level the database will provide a source of data on Scottish livestock health and welfare such as:

  • The ability for the Scottish Executive and veterinary practices to use anonymous data to monitor health and welfare trends on a local and national level
  • Providing anonymous data for research into health and welfare issues

Please see the Guidance for Farmers and Guidance for Veterinary Practices for further information.

Please note

Those practices already accredited will receive a username and password automatically. Practices not yet accredited should arrange for veterinary staff to attend an AHWM Programme induction course and then email a request for an account to AHWMP@scotland.gsi.gov.uk.

To allow easier entry of the data onto the database, all benchmarking data produced from June 2007 onwards should be done using these Benchmarking Record Sheets.
