Irish exporters have now expressed a wish to use the UK landbridge. We will therefore need to amend our domestic legislation, the Bovines and Bovine Products (Trade) Regulations 1999 (BBPT Regulations), to bring our law into line with EU law in this respect.
Based on the results of research investigating the impact of removing specific genotypes in rare breeds of sheep, the GB Rural Affairs Departments have drawn up a number of options on how a breeding programme could be applied. We are keen to seek views on these options.
