Important New NSP Initiatives for Sheep Producers
A Flock Register was launched in June 2005. This is a voluntary scheme to recognise TSE-resistant status of breeding and commercial flocks. It is open to all flocks that use NSP tested rams.
From 2006 all purebred flocks and any other flocks which produce and sell homebred rams for breeding will be required to register for the Compulsory Ram Genotyping Scheme (CRGS).
For further details on these initiatives please contact the Scottish Executive on 0131 244 6005 or visit the National Scrapie Plan website pages within the Defra website.
