Post Movement Notification
Acting on representations from industry stakeholders, Scottish Government made it a requirement from 17 January 2008 that keepers receiving animals from a bluetongue Restricted Zone must complete a post movement notification document. The details are used by Scottish Government to monitor the numbers of such moves, to conduct post movement checks that the conditions attached to those moves have been complied with and to inform future activities such as risk assessments supporting the Scottish Government's bluetogue strategy. Although it is unlikely that many animals will be able to fulfil the strict conditions in force for movement out of a bluetongue Restriced Zone at this time, this requirement for post movement notification remains in force.
The document should be returned to the Scottish Government's Veterinary Division in Pentland House, Edinburgh by email at: Veterinarydivision@scotland.gsi.gov.uk (or alternatively by fax to 0131 244 6475) within 3 working days of receipt of livestock.
This document is in addition to the identification, herd records and movement notifications in the Sheep & Goat (Identification and Traceability) (Scotland) Regulations 2006 and the Cattle Identification (Scotland) Regulations 2007.
