A sheep Health Conference drawing together the key players of the Scottish Sheep industry was held earlier in the year at Perth Agricultural Centre. The presentations from the conference are now available on the SAC website ( www.sac.ac.uk).
Updated biosecurity guidance is now available for officials of the Scottish Executive who visit farm premises in the absence of an outbreak of a notifiable animal and/or plant disease.
Proposed Scottish Outdoor Access Code ( www.snh.org.uk/SOAC) is submitted to Scottish Ministers.
Updated biosecurity guidance is now available for Business Visitors, Contractors and Utility workers on or near farm or similar premises.
Scottish Agricultural College training module Biosecurity and Animal Health Planning is launched. Information is also available from the Scottish Qualification Authority.
Codes of Recommendations for the Welfare of Livestock: Animal Health and Biosecurity is launched to promote heightened biosecurity measures on farms. The publication also contains guidance for official visitors to farm properties and recreational users of farmland.
