Agri-environment Payment Rate Review
Following concerns expressed by stakeholders about the
revised payment rates for agri-environment schemes
announced on 9 May, Mr Finnie has asked his officials to
meet with stakeholders at the earliest opportunity, to
carry out a further review of the payment rates in
consultation with stakeholders.
A Review Group has been established, including
representatives from a wide range of stakeholders: the
NFUS, Scottish Rural Property and Business Association,
Scottish Crofters' Foundation,
SNH,SAC,FWAG
Scotland, LINK, the Soil Association, and the Scottish
Organic Producers' Association. The Review will be
completed as soon as possible. Any revised rates will be
introduced only after completion of the Review process with
stakeholders and with the approval of the EU and the
Parliament.
