Food Strategy and advice on Food Marketing Grants
The Strategy for the Food and Drink Industry in Scotland, which was launched in 1999, sets out some ambitious targets for growth in the food industry in Scotland by 2010. Details on the up-to-date developments on work flowing from the Strategy can be found at the Scottish Food and Drink website.
The Forward Strategy for Scottish Agriculture highlights the importance of marketing in today's consumer-driven climate and the need for Scottish producers to get better at identifying markets, at home and abroad, which suit our produce and give the best possible returns.
The Scottish Government operates capital and non-capital marketing and processing grant schemes for the agri-food industry; provides financial support to the Scottish Agricultural Organisation Society (SAOS) to increase co-operative activity within the agriculture industry in Scotland; works with Food From Britain and other export related organisations to harness the export potential of Scottish companies; and works closely with Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise in taking forward initiatives to help Scottish companies build on the high quality reputation that Scottish products have.
Full details of the grant schemes can be found within the Grants, Subsidies and Services section of the Agriculture Website.
