The creation of Fiscal Commission Working Group was announced in March 2012. The Working Group was tasked with overseeing the design a robust macroeconomic framework for Scotland post-independence.

A sound macroeconomic framework which is underpinned by monetary stability, financial stability and sound fiscal management is a pre-requisite for economic growth.

This first report puts forwards a number of recommendations for the Scottish Government to consider and is intended to inform the debate around Scotland’s future post-independence.
