This statutory guidance is aimed at social landlords and gives guidance on the pre-action requirements under sections 14 and 14A of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001("the 2001 Act")as amended by section 155 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2010 ("the 2010 Act"). The pre-action requirements set out what social landlords must do, as a minimum from 1 August 2012 before taking action to evict a tenant where the grounds include rent arrears.

The document also provides guidance on changes to repossession orders under section 16 of the 2001 Act as amended by section 153 of the 2010 Act.

These changes also come into force from 1 August 2012.
