The Draft Report on Proposals and Policies fulfills the duty placed on Scottish Ministers by section 35 of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009 by detailing the policies that are already in place to cut emissions and further proposals to enable Scotland to meet the annual emissions targets from 2010 to 2022.
The Scottish Government has undertaken a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the draft Report on Proposals and Policies (RPP). The SEA is required by the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005. The SEA identifies Scotland’s existing environmental resources and then explains how these might be affected by the draft RPP. This will help to improve environmental sustainability of the final RPP.
