This guidance explains the new rules for sheep and goat identification and recording from 31 December 2009.
The guidance is designed to be a general guide to help you meet the requirements of the law, in relation to identification and traceability. It does not cover the full range of legal requirements that apply if you keep sheep or goats. You should make sure you keep and refer to any other publications sent by other Government agencies relating to Common Agricultural Policy payment schemes and animal health and veterinary developments.
