9. EXIT STRATEGY

9.1 It is important that the communications effort continues right up until the end of any outbreak, when restrictions have been lifted and there is a full return to normal conditions.

9.2 As the incident response winds down so will the resource that supported it, however it will be necessary to maintain a skeleton staff which continues to engage with stakeholder groups and the wider public until all the loose ends that have arisen as a result of the disease control response have been resolved. Communications should be tailored to relevant groups utlising channels such as:

  • editorial space in trade papers e.g. SAC articles;
  • Scottish Government website;
  • Stakeholder group meetings.
