APPENDIX F: DISEASE CONTROL STAKEHOLDER GROUPS

It is important that stakeholders' views are taken into consideration in developing and implementing Scotland's animal health and welfare policy. Reflecting this, the Scottish Government Animal Health and Welfare Division runs a series of key stakeholders meetings throughout the year. This group will be the basis for any disease control stakeholder group involving livestock. A separate stakeholder group and associated ornithological experts group are in place to deal with avian influenza and Newcastle disease outbreaks.

Scottish Government Disease Control Stakeholder Groups

  • Avian Influenza/ Newcastle Disease Stakeholder Group;
  • Bluetongue Stakeholder Group;
  • Foot and Mouth Disease Stakeholder Group.

Membership of these groups is kept under constant review with details held in the Scottish Government Animal Health and Welfare Contacts Database.

All stakeholder updates should be copied to the appropriate distribution list.

Key stakeholder contacts are maintained by CVO Scotland and the Head of AHW and may be contacted by telephone or other means in order to give detailed information on the developing situation.
