The UK has tested over 1.29 million cattle aged over 30 months, slaughtered for human consumption since November 2005.

There has been one BSE case in an over thirty month old bovine slaughtered for human consumption since November 2005 in Northern Ireland, in an animal whose date of birth could not be confirmed (but considered to have been born after August 1996) slaughtered in January 2007.
