Revised 2007-08 Tables - revision - 24 February 2010

Figures previously published for 2007-08 have been revised to include amendments that a few local authorities provided after the 2007-08 publication. East Dunbartonshire revised all their 2007-08 data on children looked after at 31st March 2008, and on children starting to be looked after in 2007-08. This was due to the addition of 2 children who were looked after in 2007-08 but were not previously included in East Dunbartonshire's figures. This affects tables 1.1-1.4, tables 1.8-1.14, tables 2.1-2.5, table 2.9, and tables 3.1-3.5 from the 2007-08 Children Looked After Statistics publication. Dumfries and Galloway revised their 2007-08 data on accommodation types of children looked after at 31st March 2008. This was due to a small number of children who were looked after in local authority homes being incorrectly recorded as being looked after in a residential school. This affects table 1.8, table 2.3, and table 3.3. The revised set of complete tables is available in Excel format here.

Table 2.1: Children Looked After Statistics 2007-08 - Errata - 30 June 2009

Please note that table 2.1 contained incorrect percentage of population rates for the 18-21 age group and the total age groups. This was because 19-21 year olds had also been included. This has now been amended as follows: 18-21 is calculated as a percentage of 18 year olds and total rates are calculated as a percentage of 0-18s.

Table 3.6: Children Looked After Statistics 2007-08 - Errata - 27 February 2009

Please note that table 3.6 contained incorrect information on the per cent of young people entitled to aftercare services that were still in touch with social services. The total number in touch with social services is the total number eligible for aftercare services minus the number no longer in touch with social services. The percentage previously calculated had incorrectly excluded 'not knowns' also. The percentages in column 2 of Table 3.6 of the publication have been amended and a footnote added.
