The 'disability excluding dyslexia' group includes those students classed as blind/partially sighted, deaf/partial hearing, wheelchair/mobility, mental health/personal care, unseen disability, multiple disability and other disability.

18. Figure 7 and Table 9 show that the amount of Disabled Students Allowance ( DSA) paid out has increased by 57.2% since 2002-2003 to £8.1 million in 2007-2008; this is 6.7% higher than in 2006-2007. After decreasing between 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 the amount of DSA paid to dyslexic students has increased by 13.0% and, at £4.4 million, is 53.5% higher than in 2002-2003. DSA payments to students with all other disabilities have risen by 61.8% since 2002-2003 to £3.7 million in 2007-2008, an increase of 0.2% since 2006-2007. 54.3% of the total amount of DSA payments in 2007-2008 went to students with dyslexia.
