The 'disability excluding dyslexia' group includes those students classed as blind/partially sighted, deaf/partial hearing, wheelchair/mobility, mental health/personal care, unseen disability, multiple disability and other disability.

17. Figure 6 and Table 9 show that the number of students in receipt of Disabled Students Allowance ( DSA) has increased in each academic year since 2002-2003. In 2007-2008 3,625 students received DSA; this is 77.9% higher than in 2002-2003 and 7.1% higher than in 2006-2007. DSA recipients with dyslexia have increased by 80.7% since 2002-2003 compared with a rise of 73.2% in numbers excluding dyslexia. Between 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 the number of DSA students with dyslexia increased by 9.0%, compared with a 4.1% rise in recipients with disabilities excluding dyslexia. In 2007-2008 62.9% of students receiving DSA had dyslexia.
