COMMUNITY AND STAKEHOLDER INVOLVEMENT

13. The public, developers, communities, interest groups and other stakeholders should be involved in the preparation of the SPG. This is not only good practice but will mean that the SPG carries more weight in the decision-making process. SPP6 puts considerable stress on public participation. Consultation on the draft SPG is a requirement of Strategic Environmental Assessment, but other means of engagement are likely to be of benefit.
