3. Local Authority Analysis

  • All Local Authorities made payments for packages of Self-directed Support (Direct Payments) during the year to 31 March 2008.
  • Fife council had the most number of people receiving Self-directed Support (Direct payments) packages. (13 per cent of the Scotland total). Fife's payments amounted to £3.3 million. However the city of Edinburgh contributed the greatest value overall, at over £4.4 million (15 per cent of the total amount paid). Eilean Siar had the smallest number of clients with 11 people receiving payments.
  • All but 4 Local Authorities had more people receiving payments in 2008 than in the previous year.
  • The average value of a payment increased in 17 of 32 Local Authorities since 2006/07.
