3 Emergency and short-term powers
This guide focuses on the longer term power in the Act, i.e. the compulsory treatment order. However, the Act also includes other powers which can be used in emergency situations or for a shorter period of time. There is a separate guide which looks at emergency and short-term powers ( see here).
