In this year's figures, the "calibrated sample size" has been used to calculate the confidence intervals. This is necessary because the childminders were selected as a stratified sample and weighted to make the sample representative of the population. In previous years the actual sample size was used, which leads to confidence intervals that are smaller than the correct intervals.
