3.2 Total livestock populations and summary of livestock movement in Scotland in 2003-2007

The total sheep, pigs and cattle populations, and size of dairy cattle herd in Scotland in 2003-2007 as estimated with the annual Agri-censuses are given in Table 2. The total volume and frequency of the annual live sheep trade and movement to slaughter in Scotland in 2003-2007 are given in Tables 3 and 4. The total volume and frequency of the annual dairy cattle live trade and movement to slaughter in Scotland in 2003-2007 are given in Tables 5 and 6. Similar summaries for beef cattle (this category includes cattle of dual and unknown purpose breeds) are given in Tables 7 and 8. The total volume and frequency of the annual pig live trade and movement to slaughter in Scotland in 2003-2007 are given in Tables 9 and 10. Tables 3-10 are provided below in the Tables and charts Section of this report.
